Steve Campagna started coaching the Ottawa Sooners in 1997, winning a Manson
Cup that season. In 2000, Steve began coaching at the University of Ottawa
where he was the Offensive Line Coach for the next two years, winning a Vanier Cup National Championship in 2000. He helped U of O receive four CIS All-Stars, two of which (Jocelyn Frenette and Brock Flemming) went on to play in the CFL for Saskatchewan and Montreal.
Steve also coached the Ottawa Junior Riders for one season (2003), returning to the Sooners in 2004 as their Offensive Line Coach.
Steve also spent his summers coaching OVFL Football from 2004-2006. Before coaching Junior Football, Steve coached Colonel By High School (1996) and St. Matt’s High School (1997). He also coached in the under-
19 Canada Cup.
From 1988 to 1990, Steve played at Carleton University,
joining the Ottawa Sooners for the 1991 and 1992 seasons. During his time with the Sooners, he was a two-time All-Canadian and won an Eastern Canadian Championship. In 1992, Steve played for the University of Ottawa for three seasons and was a team captain. He signed with the Saskatchewan Rough Riders in 1992 and attended their training camp that year. |
